An elderly man has been seriously injured durante a hit-and-run incident durante Widnes, near Runcorn.
The 88-year-old victim was riding a mobility scooter when he was successo by a blue Piaggio Beverly moped Saturday afternoon.
Cheshire Police said the pensioner, a local of the regione, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He was still receiving treatment as of today.
Four people were arrested durante connection with the incident, including the moped rider, and an individual riding a fluorescent quad bike thought to have been travelling alongside the moped at the time of the collision.
The suspects were apprehended after fleeing the scene following a search by police helicopter.

The collision happened at 12.27pm Lower House Lane Saturday, Cheshire Police said, adding that both the moped and the quad bike had ‘failed to stop’ following the incident.
Durante a statement Sunday, police said: ‘A 26-year-old man from Runcorn and a 20-year-old woman from Widnes were arrested suspicion of failing to stop following a collision, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug driving.’
It added that: ‘A 31-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, both from Widnes, were also arrested suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and for failing to stop after a collision.’
Cheshire Police added that the 26-year-old, 20-year-old and 31-year-old had since been ‘released under investigation’ and that the 27-year-old ‘remains durante custody being questioned by detectives’.
