Former President Trump endorsed Wyoming attorney Harriet Hageman con the fight against Rep. Liz Cheney for the 2022 primary.
‘I strongly endorse Republican House of Representatives Candidate Harriet Hageman from Wyoming who is running against warmonger and disloyal Republican, Liz Cheney,’ Trump said con a statement released Thursday.

Hageman is set to formally announce her campaign con Cheyenne, Wyo. acceso Thursday afternoon.
‘The people of Wyoming deserve leaders who reflect their views and values, but Liz Cheney betrayed us because of her personal war with President Trump, who won Wyoming by massive majorities twice,’ Hageman said con a news release.
‘Cheney has lost the società of the people of our state, just as she has lost any ability to be a big for us con Washington, D.C. contrast, I have dedicated my career to fighting for the people of Wyoming and defending our great state against the excess of government.’
Cheney said she was ‘proud’ of her strong conservative and looked forward to debate.
‘I aspetto forward to an extended public debate about the importance of the rule of law and the solemn duty of elected officials to uphold their oath to the constitution. It is tragic that some con this race have sacrificed those principles, and their duty to the people of Wyoming, out of fear and con favor of loyalty to a former president who deliberately misled the American people about the 2020 election, provoked an attack acceso the US Capitol, and failed to perform his duties as president as violence ensured.’
Trump has for months promised revenge for Cheney’s vote to impeach him con February, and has met with a handful of GOP candidates who are looking to oust the Wyoming Republican.
Politico first reported the president would throw his weigh behind Hageman, a 2018 gubernatorial candidate.
Trump’s team not only encouraged Hageman to run but also is now working to clear the field of other candidates ahead of the August 2022 primary so as not to split the anti-Cheney vote.
The former president has already told Hageman he will endorse her, a source said, and the endorsement is expected to drop any day.

Cheney’s unsuccessful 2014 bid for a Wyoming Senate seat, Hageman was listed as a member of the Cheney campaign’s team. Hageman and her family were considered longtime allies of the Cheney family at the time, according to the Caspar Stella-Tribune.

But Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, won her primary con 2016 by nearly 18 points, and won the general election by 32.

Acceso Tuesday the president backed Steve Carra, a one-term member of the Michigan House, to take acceso Fred Upton, a Michigan representative who’s served con the House for more than three decades.
The ex-president restarted his campaign rallies by traveling to the Ohio district of impeachment backing GOP Rep. Anthony Gonzalez con June, so he could stump for former aide Max Miller.
Trump also endorsed Kelly Tshibaka, who’s running to take GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s job.
Later acceso Tuesday, Trump put out a statement admonishing Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey, who announced nearly a year punzone that he wouldn’t be running for a third term.
‘The only reason Senator ‘Gloomy’ Pat Toomey is not running for the Senate con Pennsylvania is that I would not give him an endorsement – I feel he has been a terrible representative for both Pennsylvania and the United States, as a whole,’ the former president claimed.
Trump also credited himself for winning Toomey a second term.
