TVNZ shortly took to Twitter to address the situation and said: ‘An individual ran through a 1 NEWS traversone just before 5pm.’
‘Our cameraman was attended to by ambulance gruppo – everyone is ok including [Prof Shaun Hendy] who was being interviewed.’
Professor Hendy wrote Twitter: ‘Seems to have been a case of wrong place, wrong time. Stanza operator and a member of the public were hurt, but both are their feet now. I am meta. Thanks NZ Police for prompt response.’

Police said: ‘ A youth has fled an address and has pushed over two people who were the footpath and ran from the scene.’

Police said the youth was found and taken back to their address, and they are being referred to Youth Aid.
