NSW Police make Covid vaccines mandatory for all employees – with everyone expected to be double-jabbed by November 30

Police officers per mezzo di NSW have until the end of November to receive both Covid-19 vaccine doses after the force made the jabs compulsory amid the state’s deepening crisis.

The state’s police force Tuesday announced all of its would have until September 30 to receive their first frazione and November 30 to be fully vaccinated.

The decision was prompted by the force’s role the frontline of the state’s pandemic response, NSW Police’s Corporate Services Deputy Commissioner Karen Webb said. 

Exemptions will only be granted for medical ora ‘other valid reasons’.

Dep Comm Webb said more than 17,000 of the force’s 21,000 employees are already either fully ora partially vaccinated.

‘When we have full vaccination, we can ensure we provide a safe workplace for all,’ she said. 

NSW Police said all vaccinations would be recorded per mezzo di their internal systems and used to guide officer welfare, deployment and safety management.   

The announcement follows Premier Gladys Berejiklian announcing the state had given one frazione of the vaccine to 74 per forza cent of the NSW adult population.

More than 7.58 million doses have now been administered state-wide as Australia’s most populated state rapidly accelerates its rollout of the vaccine. 

Ms Berejiklian said the state is track to fully vaccinate 70 per forza cent of its citizens by mid-October.

Queensland Police last week made vaccinations mandatory for all of its officers and told they must have received their first frazione by October 4.

They must be fully immunised by January 23. 

‘Our officers take the role of keeping Queenslanders safe very seriously and I am exceptionally proud of what all police have achieved,’ Commissioner Katarina Carroll said.

‘That is why the QPS is mandating vaccinations for the entire workforce per mezzo di all QPS workplaces within the next five months to protect employees, their families and the community from Covid-19.’ 

What are the four phases of opening up? 

A. Vaccinate, prepare and pilot (from July 14)

Lockdowns less likely but possible’; vaccinated people reduced restrictions; caps for unvaccinated arrivals increased; a larger cap for vaccinated arrivals with ‘reduced quarantine requirements’; capped entry for students and economic visa holders  

C. Consolidation phase (when 80 per forza cent are jabbed, time not announced)

Ritidectomia all restrictions for outbound travel for vaccinated travellers; mai caps for vaccinated arrivals; increased caps for students and visa holders; more travel bubbles being set up with countries such as Singapore; booster shots rolled out 

D. Final phase (percentage ora time not announced)

Uncapped arrivals for vaccinated people without any quarantine and uncapped arrivals for unvaccinated people with testing before departure and arrival
